Lunch - break ramble : On #KONY2012

Almost every day, the first thing that I do after I woke up is checking my Blackberry. This morning I woke up and checked my twitter account, and found that #KONY2012 was being discussed on my timeline. Until now (writing this during lunchtime), as I am still at work, I haven’t got the chance to see the much-talked video. However the tweets I read makes me curious… it seemed like a good cause, and I also saw many public figure retweeted the link to the video.. so I quickly did some research.

Some top links I found had negative headlines, so I clicked them out of curiosity. I was curious cause the tweets I read about #KONY2012 all sound positive. But these links I found.. are not.

Then I clicked the official link of the foundation who initiated #KONY2012, Invisible Children, here : http://kony2012.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/.

Obviously cause I clicked them all through my Blackberry, I couldn’t follow all the links I found. But I get it, it seemed like a pretty serious stuff. So I tweeted, trying to see what my followers think about the issue. Long story short, I found myself involved in a twitter discussion with Nana and Priyo, friends from Uni, and also my brother through Blackberry messages. We exchanged links about #KONY2012, and I came to a conclusion that okay.. the foundation is a bit shady, I have to admit. But Kony is an evil man, that I have to admit as well. So I guess it’s okay to just share the news about him, create awareness on the cause, to people like me, who have never heard about it until this morning.

Then.. Priyo gave me and Nana a link : http://visiblechildren.tumblr.com/. An interesting one. Oooookay so there’s more to Invisible Children than just being shady. He also gave us another link : http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2012/03/07/stop-kony-yes-but-dont-stop-asking-questions/, in which I can’t agree more. We have to stop Kony, but don’t stop asking questions. True.

So, quite a topic for a lunch break discussion, right? But I am so happy, cause it was a while since I had a mind challenging conversation like this. Okay quite a ramble im writing here as well.. better finish my lunch and get back to work now. :D

Anyway, I’m still annoyed with the fact that my a href codes are still not working! ARGH! HELP!
