The power of social media ..

So yesterday i got my first brief from Saatchi&Saatchi, spent almost the whole day procrastinating about it, then made my facebook group around midnight. I spoke to my friend, Andrew, asked him couple of advices, then invited all my facebook friends, asked him to invite his, wrote it down in my blog, my twitter account, and my plurk account.

when i woke up around 7 this morning, the group had around 100-ish members, and to my surprise, someone, note here, a very random guy that i dont even know, made a KASKUS thread about the group! holy! i was shocked! (in a good way though..) i mean.. Kaskus is a verrryy powerful social media in Indonesia, a community with its own language, its own culture, consists of thousands ppl... whoa.

then i continued to post the group's link on my twitter, got RT'd couple times by my friends, post the group's link to other groups in facebook, as well as continously asked my friends to invite their friends to the group.......
as per right now, 20:57 Bournemouth time, the group has 620 members!
HOLY! not even 24 hours since its establishment!!

well.. there's still other 300ish groups that was made by other contestants, but Alhamdulillah my group is still in the top 20 position, but the 1st position.. has... around 10.000 members already.. wooooww...
anyways, as the brief said, only need to be in top 50% of all the participating groups to get to the next round.. i hope my group will have more and more members.. and i'll be able to go into the next round :)

The key thing is.. LOOK at the power of viral, social media, word of mouth, oh.. just the simple power of PEOPLE!! coooolness!!!
i am definitely gonna write this as my dissertation topic!! woohoooo~
