The one about le marriage

“Everyone is either getting engaged, married or have babies… well I’m not everyone”

That’s the joke that me and my single friends like to tell each other nowadays.. hahaha typical? :p

Well it’s just that almost everyone we know are getting married (if not already)!  Like this June, I got weddings to attend every weekend. I even have 3 weddings to attend on the 10^th. And all of them are my good friends.. and I don’t want to miss their wedding, obviously. 

Of course, along with going to wedding parties (mostly alone or with friends), I got asked the question “when’s your turn?” very much. Ultra much. SUPER. I, of course, always reply it with smile, and say “will let you know when it’s time..”. Again, typical? :p 

Speaking of getting married and what not, I’ve recently liked this tune from Tulus, called Teman Hidup. It’s an Indonesian song, which has reaaaally good lyrics I say. 

Here goes :

Now that song, I think, best represent my view on a life time partner (a.k.a husband).  If I ever meet my soulmate and get married, I would wish that he’s a bit (if not completely) of what’s written in those lyrics…. :)

 “Being with him/her makes me calmer, with him/her the path is brighter” 

That, is the true definition of how your spouse supposed to make you feel. I want a partner which can make me calmer, despite the craziness the world has to offer. Together with him, I want to feel that the path is brighter, our path is brighter because we have each other. That.. I think.. is love. Sounds cliché? Ain’t love cliché?

 Or something like that.. Now again, this is what I hope I can find in my partner. I may have my own goals and dreams, and so does he. But together, we can mix our goals and dreams, supporting each other and walk side by side in reaching those.

“If we would face many obstacles in our love journey, don’t give up, as you have me, I have you, and forever we will be”

I know that marriage isn’t easy. Well life isn’t.. so having a partner should help you overcome any obstacles in life, not worsening things. I’ve heard many stories of how couples split once they are facing a big obstacle in life.. Bankruptcy, or whatever. It breaks my heart to hear that.. well I’m not in their shoes so I can’t tell much, but I can only hope that my partner will help me go through any obstacles in life.. not drifting apart when we face one.. as together we are stronger :)

Anyway, my sincere congratulations for those of my dear friends getting married soon, here’s to a lifetime love and joy for yous!<3
